Sarah Frank – The Bombadils
“I still have the Step Up to the Spotlight modules on repeat because there is so much to learn in each one. It is an impressively well-rounded course that covers many aspects of music that I had never thought of, even as a full-time musician. I am relieved not to be wasting time anymore, and to have Cari to turn to for guidance and mentorship as I follow my wildest musical dreams. The Artistic Apex guided visualization in Cari Cole’s Step Up Program. After doing it just a few times I’ve felt much more grounded onstage, and aware of the connection that I hope to share with people through music. Then, at a show last month, someone came over to me to say that “you have magic in you.” I honestly could not believe her words. And she came over AGAIN later in the evening to say the same thing, like she really wanted to make sure I knew it. I realized that so much of what I’ve been working on over the last decade is coming together in a special way now. The guided visualization is only part of it, because I needed to be in a place where I would accept that visualization as a true possibility and really believe in it. There have been many books, retreats, mentors both musical and spiritual, so much practicing, touring, recording, morning pages, prayer, meditation, soul searching… all to come around to the fact that yes, this musical dream comes from a real, true, loving place, yes, it’s a gift I’m given to share. I could have never said this ten years ago without feeling totally arrogant and deluded. But the thing is, it’s not arrogant to think I have a gift, because, as Cari Cole says, everyone has pure gold inside of them, amazing goodness to share, if they are just themselves and true to their inner child. If we have the opportunity and good health… it’s almost like we have an obligation to share our gifts and put more “happy ripples” out into the world to heal the bad ones. And we don’t even have to do it perfectly, we just try our best. As Leonard Cohen says, “ring the bells that still can ring, forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” That quote keeps popping up for me lately. Cari quotes it as well.”
